Grab a bow and arrow, and channel your inner Katniss Everdeen. Archery is one of our most popular camp activities among both children and adults, and it’s great for all levels of experience and ability. With hands-on instruction from Pali’s talented outdoor education specialists, you just may surprise yourself with your newfound skills. May fortune ever be in your favor!
With five different target ranges across the property, there is plenty of room for all participants to hone their craft. Each range has 8-10 targets. Each location is secluded enough to relax and just have fun. Instructors are available to teach and monitor the activity if necessary.
With instruction and support from Pali’s fantastic outdoor educators, you’ll learn proper technique to get your tomahawk to the target. Most people start off… not great. But with the right instructor, you’ll be surprised at the improvement you and your group can make with just a few practice throws! Most people are able to hit their target by the end of the session, which means they can have bragging rights about their tomahawk-throwing skills forever.
We offer two different types of ways to experience the mountain during our daytime nature walks. Choose between either an Ecology Walk or a Sensory Walk, both of which are led by trained naturalists who specialize in the local environment.
On your Ecology Walk, your group will learn about the plant and animal life local to the San Bernardino Mountains and take in the stunning geographical features in the area. With many trails on our 94 acres to choose from, your guide can lead you through a vigorous hike, a gentle walk, or something in between as you explore the natural sciences.
With a Sensory Walk, your guide will lead you through using the natural beauty of your surroundings as a tool to quiet your mind. This exploration of all five senses culminates in a scenic “nature sit” at one of our breathtaking vistas.
The mountain comes alive at night in a whole new way. Guided by Pali’s specially trained naturalists, your group will walk under a spectacular view of the stars, learning astronomy along the way. Find out about the nocturnal animals of the San Bernardino Mountains and the unique ecology of the mountain at after dark, and enjoy the splendid views of city lights far in the distance.
